Here’s everything you need to know about receiving, storing, and enjoying your ALFIE’S products.
Where We Deliver
ALFIE’S delivers across the contiguous United States. We currently do not deliver to Alaska or Hawaii.
Delivery Days
We deliver Tuesday through Friday.
Please plan for someone to receive your box and put your products into the refrigerator or freezer promptly.
Packed Frozen for Delivery
Our products are shipped frozen in insulated packaging designed to help keep them cold during transit.
Insulated packaging provides temporary protection during shipping. It does not replace a refrigerator or freezer.
Bringing Your Box Inside
A brief delay in collecting your box does not automatically mean the products are unsafe. When you bring it inside, check that the products are still frozen, partially frozen with ice crystals, or at 40°F (4°C) or below.
Collect your delivery as soon as possible, keep the box out of direct sunlight, and unpack and refrigerate or freeze your products promptly.
If products arrive above 40°F, do not consume them. Contact us for assistance.
Check Your Delivery
When your box arrives:
- Open the outer shipping box promptly.
- Check that the product boxes are sealed and undamaged.
- Check the condition and temperature of the food.
- Put your products directly into the refrigerator or freezer.
Products should arrive frozen, partially frozen with ice crystals remaining, or at a refrigerator-safe temperature of 40°F (4°C) or below.
Some softening during transit does not automatically mean the food is unsafe. Temperature matters more than whether a product feels completely solid. Use a food thermometer to check when needed.
If the food arrives above 40°F, do not eat or taste it. Smell and appearance alone cannot confirm that food is safe.
Storing Your ALFIE’S: In the Freezer
Keep unopened boxes continuously frozen at 0°F (-18°C) or below.
Our stated frozen storage life is up to 12 months. Always follow the date and storage instructions printed on the box.
Storing Your ALFIE’S: In the Refrigerator
Keep unopened boxes refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below and use within seven days of moving them into the refrigerator, or by an earlier use-by date printed on the box.
If a product arrives already thawed but safely chilled, count the delivery day as the first refrigerated day.
Keep the products you plan to eat soon in the refrigerator and store the rest in the freezer.
After Opening
The seven-day refrigerated storage period applies to unopened boxes.
After opening, refrigerate any unused food promptly in a clean, covered container. Follow the product’s after-opening instructions. For cooked leftovers, use within three to four days, or sooner if the product’s existing storage deadline comes first.
Opening or reheating a product does not reset its storage deadline.
Thawing & Heating
Thaw frozen products in the refrigerator rather than on the kitchen counter.
Follow the heating instructions provided with each product. When reheating cooked meat, heat it thoroughly to 165°F (74°C), checked with a food thermometer.
Only heat a box in the microwave or hot water if its packaging instructions specifically permit that method.
Everyday Food Safety
- Wash your hands before handling food.
- Use clean utensils and preparation surfaces.
- Keep ready-to-eat products separate from raw meat and its juices.
- Refrigerate unused portions promptly.
- Discard perishable food left at room temperature for more than two hours, or more than one hour when the surrounding temperature is above 90°F (32°C).
- Check each product’s ingredient and allergen information before eating.
These room-temperature limits apply to food that is not being kept safely cold. They are not a guaranteed holding time for an insulated delivery box.
Something Isn’t Right?
